QUICK FIX: Broken Make-Up

Dropping makeup and destroying them has become my new thing these days, so I had to find a way to fix them and get on with my life! Hope you enjoy this quick DIY pictorial fix up!

rubbing alcohol

toothpick - anything to crush make up

any makeup brush - small bristles

pieces of plastic

What To Do:

- repairing the highlight

Did You Know: Drinking too much water can cause a serious condition called water intoxication?

Water intoxication is defined as a disruption in brain function due to excessive water intake. Drinking a lot of water increases the amount of water in your blood. Too much water in our blood can lead to dilution of the electrolytes in our blood, especially sodium. Sodium helps balance fluids inside and outside of our cell.

When the levels of sodium in our bodies fall below 135mmol/L (millimoles per liter) it's called hyponatremia. This causes fluids to shift from the outside to the inside of the cells, causing them to swell. When this happens to brain cells, it can cause brain damage, coma, and even death.

There have been many cases of water intoxication reported especially in soldiers. Referencing a source I came across while researching this topic; one report described how the death of three soldiers was associated with drinking 1- - 2- liters of water in just a few hours. The symptoms of low levels of sodium (hyponatremia) can sometimes be misinterpreted for those of dehydration. One soldier was misdiagnosed as suffering from dehydration and heat stroke, died from water intoxication as a result of repeated oral hydration.

So you might be asking yourself, how much water is enough? Water intoxication occurs when you take in more water than your kidneys can process through urine. Symptoms of too much water intake (hyponatremia) can occur from as little as 3 - 4 liters in a short amount of time. Your kidneys have the capacity to eliminate about 20 - 28 liters of water a day but cannot get rid of more than 0.8 - 1 liters per hour.

So to play it safe try not to consume more than 1 liter per hour.

Also, keep in mind:

When thirsty, drink.
When you're not thirsty anymore, stop.
During high heat and exercise, drink enough to compensate for the loss of fluids.

Going Commando

Now, most of you might read this title and think ugh, like where have you been girlfriend? But it's honestly never crossed my mind to go let alone live commando.

Fun Fact: It is called 'going commando' because of an old practice in the army, where, so you didn't shit your underwear in battle, you didn't wear any - and therefore could boast that you didn't shit your pants. 🤔 Someone care to explain? Urban Dictionary says; (v.) To not wear underwear. The origins for this are either "out in the open" or "ready for action".

I stepped into this experience with no expectations, here is my 5-day account with commando! I hope you guys enjoy. 😉

Day 1: Okay, now this feels hella weird y'all! I am enjoying the breeze though,

I keep having to keep from crossing my legs, just because it feels like I'd be suffocating her 😆 I mean ventilation and all right? I'm also digging just lifting my skirt up and peeing 😀, less work! #lazyfolksunite

Mood: indifferent

Day 2: I kinda love it guys, I love not having to wash an underwear in the shower because that's always the first thing I wash when I get started. I feel sexier, I definitely get how this can be an aphrodisiac, especially if you are rocking a clean shave/ wax down there. It's lit! My zipper just nipped a pube, it is not lit! 😩😶

Mood: Despite the pube pull, I'm still Yaz, so here for it!

Day 3: Went for it and decided to rock a mini dress today, yeah I know its winter. Bite me. 😊💅

Mood: burrrr, YAY for no VPL! 🎉

Day 4: So, I'm wearing jeans again and it got me thinking about where 'my little girl' is spending her time, between the fibers of denim. 😖 I thought wouldn't it be cool if there was something you could stick to your jeans and allow you to be comfortable because not all pieces of denim are soft. Lo and behold, there is a company based in California called Go-Commandos; essentially they are cotton patches that you paste on the crotch of your pants, tights, jeans, a cotton crotch.

Mood: Loving writing, #freeyourvag everywhere - haha as you may have picked up. 😉

Day 5: It's the last day! I ended up loving this more than I thought, and I am absolutely fearless about going commando. I can forget to wear underwear and it won't send me into a panic.

Mood: glad I gave this a solid shot, might have just disovered my new faveorite way of being.

When I decided to give this a try I told myself that I'd blog about it really honestly. My day 1 through 3 are all days that I'm active and end the day with a session at the gym. I did some research before embarking on this journey and found that it wasn't recommended to go commando under activewear, but I wanted to stay true to the experiment and stay away from all things pantie like. Girl, let's just say a little sweat goes a long way and I now know, appreciate and think my scent is sexy. #DoYou

In the end, I had a blast and maybe flashed a few people along the way haha #sorrynotsorry, thanks for reading, and remember women who don't wear underwear, never get their panties in a bunch. 😉

Kapana Sunday's

Looking for a not so productive way to spend your Sunday afternoon whilst nursing a possible hangover?

Look no further my friend, I'm sure we all know about the wonders that Kapana does for the body after a heavy night out.
But if you don't know, Kapana is a popular form of barbequed beef sold in Namibia at Single Quarters, located on Independence Avenue at the intersection of Abraham Mashego. The kapana vendors cut the meat into small pieces and cook the meat then you can add your own spices according to your taste.

Pick the sizziling meat up with your fingers (careful, its hot) and dip it into the communal cardboard box filled with a blend of salt and spices. I always insist on them wrapping the meat in newspaper compared to any styrofoam packaging. If you’re feeling a little gourmet, stroll over to the fresh bread and salsa (pickled with chopped onion and tomato) vendors and make yourself a kapana sandwich. It's lit! 🔥

My Go To Daily Spritz Moisturizer for My Natural Hair

Here's what I use to keep my hair moisturized on a daily, every natural hair girl knows all about the magic that of the spritz bottle. I use an old toner bottle, anything that can spritz will do.

What you will need:
- coconut oil (oil of your choice)
- conditioner
- water
- *afro comb to comb hair after the spritz

Put water I prefer filtered or boiled water into the toner bottle, add a few drops of conditioner and coconut oil. Shake 'n Spritz! Use is to detangle your hair or just add some moisture on the go.
